Wellness Wednesdays: July 2024 Highlights
July 2024
In July, Fattal Group's CSR department launched Wellness Wednesdays, a series of activities held every Wednesday to enhance the overall well-being of our employees. The events were designed to enhance the overall well-being of Fattal employees, with a focus on both personal and professional growth. Throughout the month, our colleagues had the chance to participate in:
Empower Yourself
This engaging workshop, led by Mirella Atallah, benefited 25 Fattal employees, teaching them essential self-defense skills to build confidence and ensure personal safety. Attendees learned practical techniques from Jiu-Jitsu, including how to manage distance, break grips, and escape from common holds. The session also covered strategies for navigating fear and reaction phases, empowering individuals of all ages and fitness levels to act decisively in threatening situations. Mirella Atallah, a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu and Lebanon's first (and only) female black belt, shared her expertise in self-defense to offer an impactful training experience. By enhancing self-defense skills, this workshop contributed to personal safety and well-being, fostering a more secure and confident workforce.
Elevate your Wellness
On July 27, 10 employees participated in a comprehensive morning dedicated to enhancing nutrition habits, led by Nicole Maftoum, an experienced dietitian and founder of Eat Like Nicole. The event began with a lively experimental presentation that included blindfolds, offering useful nutrition advice in an enjoyable way. Participants were then invited to continue to the culinary workshop in the cafeteria, where 22 employees explored easy, healthy recipes and learned about sustainable ingredients, fostering a hands-on approach to healthier cooking and reducing food waste. Later, 30 registered employees were called for a 15-minute one-on-one consultation with Nicole Maftoum, receiving personalized body composition analyses and tailored diet plans. This program provided valuable insights to help employees make healthier nutrition choices in their busy lives, ultimately supporting better health and well-being.
Unmasking Toxic Relationships
On July 17, 40 employees participated in "Unmasking Toxic Relationships: Navigating the Hidden Pitfalls in Personal and Professional Life," an essential session for enhancing emotional intelligence and improving relationship dynamics. The session, which was led by clinical psychologist and psychotherapist Dr. Toni Sawma, offered invaluable insights into identifying toxic relationships and understanding their impact on mental and emotional well-being. Participants gained practical guidance on dealing with challenging relationships, whether at work, in friendships, or within families, fostering a harmonious life. By addressing toxic relationships, this workshop contributed to improved emotional health and a more supportive work environment.
Navigating Financial Markets Workshop
The financial literacy workshop brought together 30 employees on July 24 for a session designed to enhance their understanding of financial investments. Moderated by Suzanne El Khoury, Account Management Director for LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) in the East Mediterranean, North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Pakistan, and General Manager of the Lebanon office, along with Daniel Caracache and Jimmy Ghabi, both Customer Success Manager and Senior Account Manager at LSEG, respectively, the event provided a comprehensive introduction to financial markets and instruments, highlighting the importance of diversification and fund management. The session included a look into a day in the life of a trader and concluded with a Q&A, offering practical insights to support informed investment decisions. By enhancing financial literacy, this session supported employees' financial well-being and informed investment strategies.
Chill w "fel"
The final event of our 2024 Wellness Month for Fattal employees was a Stand-up Comedy Show held on the last Wednesday of July. For an hour of enjoyment, 65 employees gathered for a session that featured live performances by stand-up comedians Rodrigue Ghosn and Sam Ghazali. Rodrigue, known for his roles on Basmet Watan and Erbet Tenhal, and Sam, recognized for his comedy about his childhood in Bsharreh and experiences in Beirut, created a vibrant atmosphere that concluded the month on a happy note. The event was a perfect way to wrap up our wellness activities for July 2024 with a burst of laughter, contributing to a positive and enjoyable workplace environment.
By integrating these diverse activities into our Wellness Wednesdays, Fattal Group's CSR initiatives supported various aspects of employee well-being, from personal safety and health to emotional intelligence and financial literacy
