Fattal Group Solar Panel Installation
October 2023
In 2019, Fattal Group embarked on a journey to explore sustainable energy solutions, initially considering solar panels, but faced delays due to Lebanon's challenging situation. However, in 2022, a fuel crisis ended up accelerating the process and motivating the Fattal group, leading to the installation of the panels on Fattal buildings, which include: Dolphin building, Sony building, Fattal Online, Pharma building, Botella building, and HR building.
The installation of 1058 panels began across various Fattal buildings, optimizing available roof space. Unlike hybrid systems with costly batteries, Fattal opted for an on-grid approach, relying on an external energy source (generators or government electricity) to supplement solar power. This approach was chosen for several reasons: it was cost-effective, eco-friendly, and would alleviate the load on existing generators that were constantly running, resulting in substantial energy savings.
An app simplifies system monitoring, though solar panels cover 20-25% of energy needs. This reduced active generators from eight to six, lowering fuel consumption and maintenance costs. Regular equipment maintenance ensures efficiency, especially in the first two years.
The installation of solar panels within our community carries immense significance, as it represents a vital contribution to a more environmentally friendly and cleaner future.
