To construct this list, Forbes Middle East only considered businesses owned or run by Arab families. The conglomerates are ranked on their size, value, performance, business activity, age, legacy, and extent of the business' geographic and sector diversification. "Our list of the Top Arab Family Businesses in 2025 highlights not only financial strength but also a commitment to innovation and sustainability," explains the Forbes editorial. "Middle Eastern family businesses are far more than commercial enterprises they are pillars of society, deeply interwoven with the region's cultural fabric and historical legacy... Many of these family businesses have deep historical roots, with several established in the 1800s and before 1950, reflecting their resilience and adaptability over generations."

This year's list was published on May 12, 2025 and it showcases the dominance of GCC countries, with 33 companies from Saudi Arabia, 32 from the U.A.E., and eight from Qatar.
